Our purpose
Tails installation information is technically important but can feel fragmented when a visitor only wants to know which file belongs on a USB, whether a computer is compatible, or why the boot menu ignored a drive. We organize those decisions into focused English guides.
The site does not develop Tails, provide anonymity services, or replace official documentation. Its role is editorial: explain choices, point to authoritative sources, and reduce common setup mistakes.
Download policy
Primary download buttons lead to official Tails Project pages on tails.net. We do not modify, bundle, crack, or repackage Tails images, and we do not present advertising buttons as downloads.
Version numbers, sizes, hashes, release dates, hardware support, and download locations are treated as facts that require first-party verification. When a fact cannot be checked, we link to the official page rather than guessing.
- Official source links only
- No repackaged images
- No fake virus-scan badges
- No promises of perfect anonymity
Editorial approach
Each core page has one job: download choice, USB setup, ISO use, platform installation, startup, requirements, or verification. This keeps instructions readable and makes updates easier to audit.
We distinguish practical guidance from guarantees. Tails can support privacy-focused workflows, but outcomes also depend on hardware, accounts, documents, behavior, networks, and the services a person uses.
Corrections and contact
Technical instructions age quickly. If you find a stale official link, changed requirement, unsupported model statement, or unclear step, email [email protected]. Include the page URL and the official source that supports the correction.
